The preschool curriculum is based upon the Arkansas Frameworks for three and four-year-old children.

We offer a well-balanced program focusing on the spiritual, academic, social, and physical development of each child in a Christ-centered environment.

  • Religious formation is taught daily with preschoolers attending weekly Mass each Friday beginning in November with our elementary school children at 8:15 a.m. The fourth and fifth graders are the preschooler’s buddies during Mass and other events throughout the year.

  • Our preschoolers experience a thematic-based literary curriculum with an emphasis in math preparation to help make the transition from preschool to kindergarten smoother.

  • Children are exposed to science and social studies lessons.

  • They participate in art, music, Spanish, physical education, technology, as well as, visiting the school library for storytime.

  • The children experience guided activities, free-choice play with several centers, and a wide variety of hands-on materials to discover.

  • We are a Dual Language Preschool. To Learn more click here.

Announcement
Mrs. Fountain ECLIP Announcement.png

We have hired Mrs. Fountain full-time at CTK.

Mrs. Fountain will continue teaching K-5 Spanish and will also be overseeing our preschool dual language program. She will be the ECLIP (Early Childhood Language Intensive Program) coordinator and will be working with Notre Dame University to implement this program at CTK. Congrats Mrs. Fountain!

My name is Wendy Fountain. I am the current Spanish teacher at CTK. I was born and raised in Honduras, Central America. I attended a private bilingual school where I learned English as a Foreign Language. After finishing up High School with a High School Diploma and a bachelor’s in science and Literacy, I enrolled in the National Honduran University, I graduated from Law School with a major in Business Law and a Minor in Family Law. While I was studying in the University, I had a full-time job working for The Supreme Court, where I held different positions until graduation. After graduation, I pursued a teaching career. I taught as a classroom teacher for several years. I taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade.

In 2004, I relocated to the US, and I married my husband, Daniel Fountain. In 2005, I began to work for the Van Buren School District as a Migrant tutor and Spanish interpreter and translator. In 2006, I achieved my greatest accomplishment, I became the mother of my wonderful son Joshua Fountain. In 2017, I left the Van Buren School District to become the Spanish teacher at IC and Saint Boniface. When Saint Boniface closed, I became the Spanish teacher at CTK. Next year, I will be the full time Spanish teacher for all Christ the King Students.

I am so very happy for the opportunity and will do my best to help your students excel in Spanish. I truly believe that students need to know more than one language to help broaden their career choices. Next year will also be a magnific year as my son, Joshua, will be graduating High School from Subiaco Academy. Go Eagles!!
